The Social Hymenoptera

Apart from some Bark or Ambrosia Beetles (Scolytidae) recently found in Australia and the Termites (Isoptera) all the known Social Insects are Hymenopterans. These are the Ants (Formicidae), the Honey and Bumble Bees (Apidae), as well as some other Bees such as some (Halictidae) and (Anthophoridae) and the Wasps [(Vespidae) including the Yellow Jackets of America and the Common Wasps of Europe].
